In the world of hog hunting and our annual tournament, many of the rules you follow today exist because someone once got it wrong. Understanding the story behind each rule helps keep the land, the animals, and the participants safe and respected.

A few years ago a group of hunters confused a feral hog with a protected species, leading to costly legal action and a temporary shutdown of hunting on that property. The tag rule prevents that mistake from happening again and protects both the hunters and the landowner.

An accidental discharge during a hunt resulted in a serious injury and prompted the league to mandate muzzle control and clear communication before any shot is taken. Following that rule has kept our events free of preventable accidents.
